Just follow the care maintenance tips below to ensure years of playing enjoyment.

Conga Tuning

To tune your conga, take the tuning wrench and tighten the four lug nuts. Tighten each only slightly and move around the drum in a circular motion until you hear the sound you desire.

Bongos Tuning

To tune your bongos, take the tuning wrench and tighten the four lug nuts at the bottom of the bongos. Tighten each only slightly and move around the drum in a circular motion until you hear a sound you desire. Tune each drum separately so that you have 2 different pitches. Choose the sounds that are best for you.

Heads

Skins are made of natural hide. Although they are strong and resistant, temperature and humidity, along with regular wear and tear, can make them susceptible to cracking and splitting. To keep them in good shape always de-tune (loosen lugs) which it is not being played.

Wood Shells

Wood is a natural material and can be susceptible to cracking and splitting. To keep your wood shell in good shape, keep it clean with furniture polish.

Lugs

Tuning lugs are made of chrome plated metal. We suggest to lightly oil the thread and lug nuts from time to time with Lug Lube or other machine lubricant, to keep the lugs functioning smoothly. Never leave your conga/bongos sitting in moist, wet areas, as the lugs may rust over time. Never leave your conga/bongos where extreme temperatures exist, e.g. inside a parked car in the sun.
