Born in Osaka, Ayako Maeda graduated from Kobe-College in 1994, and moved to Paris after obtaining the Hanna Gulick Suehiro Scholarship. In Paris, Ayako graduated first on the list (Premier Prix) at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, Ecole Nationale de Musique de Romainville, Ecole Nationale de Musique d'Aulnay and Conservatoire Municipal de 20e where she worked with Shigenori Kudo, Christian Larde, Benoit Fromanger and Patric Gallois. She has also won several accolades including the Paris UFAM Concours International de Musique and the Grand Prix in France and Italy. Her concerts always receive remarkable results. Ayako went back to Japan in 1997, and has since performed for Saito Kinen Festival, conducted by Ozawa Seiji; the Asia Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Myung-Whun Chung; Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra and Mito Chamber Orchestra. She was awarded at the Osaka Culture Festival in 1999. Ayako is now performing with the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra.
