Elizatbeth Tsang started her piano lessons at six and later received her B.A. and M.Mus from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is also a holder of L.R.S.M. and L.T.C.L. Diplomas in piano performance. Diplomas of Piano Pedagogy (H.K.U. Extra Mural Studies), Piano and Electone teaching and performance Certificates (Yamaha Japan), A.R.C.T. Piano Performance (Canada).
Tsang is currently a free-lance performer, she had performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Hong Kong Oratorio Society. Besides giving solo performances, she srequently performs as accompanist to many famous vocalists, instrumentalists and numerous choirs in Hong Kong.
Being a member of the composers & Authors Society of Hong Kong, Tsang composes music for different instruments including piano, organ, harpsichord, electone, etc. She also arranges music for ensemble performances, One of her compositions was premiered in Hong Kong by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta with the composer as soloist. In 1999, another composition was premiered in Philadelphia, the United States. Having students winning various prizes in the past, Tsang was awarded by Tom LeeMusic Yamaha Teacher's prizes in the years 1989-1993 and also 1996. |
