Peter Baartmans was born in 1960.
At the age of 6 he already started to play music.
From 1969 He studied Piano and Church-organ at the music school of Bergen op Zoom (NL)
From 1978 He studied these instrument at the conservatory of Tilburg (NL)
Peter has always had a broad interest in music.
From 1976, during his studies at the conservatory, he started to play jazz-music in several jazz-combo’s and was pianist in a popular Big Band.
From 1978 he also played in a Dutch pop-band where he was the keyboard player for well known Dutch artists.
In 1980 Peter participated the Yamaha Electone Festival and won the national and European finals.
From 1981 Peter started to work for Yamaha Musical Instruments, first as a local demonstrator for Electone in Holland.
He played concerts for Yamaha all over the world. U.S.A., Australia, Latin-America, South-Africa, and almost all countries of Europe.
From 1994 he worked also as a programmer for digital keyboards and digital pianos for Yamaha in Japan.
So far Peter produced 10 Compact Discs and before 3 Vinyl-records.
On these productions You will find some of his own compositions as well.
All the songs he performs, plays, and records are his very own unique arrangements.
“Playing the piano is so simple – all you have to do is press the right key, then let go again!”
With these words, Peter really puts his finger on it. Or at least it appears to be so simple when you watch him play.
He elicits the most beautiful melodies from the instruments with such lightness and virtuosity.
His music, a mixture of classical, jazz, pop and modern pieces of the highest quality,
has become his hallmark today.
After all his experience, his style of presenting and the expression of his music on Yamaha Musical Instruments have become quite unique and unmistakable.
Making music is an integral part of his life. Peter Baartmans leaves us in no doubt about that when he says:
