- Sprang from modest and highly experimental roots in Toronto, Ontario, in 1970
- Consists of Josef Burgstaller (trumpet), Ryan Anthony (trumpet), Jeff Nelson (French horn), Eugene Watts (trombone) and Charles Daellenbach (tuba) in 2001
- More than 50 recordings include works by Purcell, Vivaldi, Gabrieli, Pachelbel, Beethoven and Wagner
- Special affinity for Baroque music, which has become their trademark
