Bastien Baumet began his musical training at age six years at Saint-Just-d'Ardèche and the School of Music Bollène before joining the National School of Music of Nimes, where he obtained a gold medal euphonium unanimously with the "congratulations of the jury." in 2003. Then in 2005 he obtained his degree of musical training and a gold medal euphonium unanimously with "laude" at the Ecole Nationale de Musique de Villeurbanne.
In 2006, Bastien won the European Competition for Young Soloists in Luxembourg. He is the 1st prize winner at International Jeju in South Korea in 2008, one of the most prestigious competitions for euphonium, and a 1st prize winner at the Paris Conservatory with highest honors in the unanimous decision in June 2009.
Since 2006, he was regularly performed with the Lyon National Orchestra, Orchestra of the Suisse Romande, Orchestra of the Opera National de Paris, Orchestra National du Capitole de Toulouse, the National Orchestra of Montpellier, the Orchestra National de France, the Orchestra of Britain. During years 2007, he was admitted successively competition within the lectern of the Euphonium Music Fleet Brest and the console saxhorn rise with the Orchestra of the Music of the Air and the Wind Band of the Peace Guardians of the Prefecture de Police de Paris, a position he still holds today. From 2008, Bastien performs regularly as soloist. He has held numerous masterclasses and recitals in France, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. He plays Besson Euphonium.
