The Tom Lee Hong Kong Youth NeoStrings Orchestra was formed in 2007 by Tom Lee Music Foundation and is led by Music Director & Conductor Mr. Anthony Wong (Violin), Instructors Ms Jasmine Pang (Violin) and Ms Beatrice Lee (Cello). The objective is to offer high-quality orchestral training to young music talents and strings players.
NeoStrings participates in performances and music events actively and frequently in order enrich the members’ musical experience and exposure. In October 2008, NeoStrings organized a joint concert with the Tom Lee Hong Kong Youth NeoWinds Orchestra. In July 2009, NeoStrings was invited to perform in the Hong Kong & Macau Strings Exchange Concert at Macau Cultural Centre and was well received. In December 2009, NeoStrings presented a mini concert in the Tom Lee Music Carnival at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza. NeoStrings participates in the Oxfam Music Marathon in April every year since establishment to raise fund for the Oxfam. In 2011, NeoStrings represented Hong Kong to participate in the “6th Kagoshima Asian Youth Arts Festival” in Japan.
