Background:

  • Born on Dec 8, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA and the family moved west at age 4.
  • Played cello at first from 7th-9th grade in Jr. High school orchestra, but not bass.
  • Until age 14, he discovered bass guitar playing in local church groups with his brothers.
  • Nate's influences include Wes Montgomery, Quincy Jones, George Benson, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, etc.
  • Has recorded with Anita Baker, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Babyface, etc.
