Chuanyun Li moved to Hong Kong when he was six. With the sponsorship of entrepreneur Mr Choi Kinchong, he studied with Professor Lin Yaoji of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing for over 10 years before furthering his studies at the Juilliard, the University of Cincinnati and in New York on a full scholarship. He was hailed by The New York Times critic as “a first-rate violinist”, and who also said, “having the chance to listen to Li’s violin playing made the evening all worthwhile”.
Li has won numerous prizes including the prestigious Wieniawski International Youth Violin Competition at the age of 11 by the unanimous votes of 20 jurors, as well as the Nakamichi Violin Concerto Competition in Aspen. |
