Wu Wing Yin Matthew obtained a scholarship to continue his study at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with Margaret Crawford. In 1997, having graduated with honours, Wu received the Rachel Percival Scholarship to further his study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Mr Paul Edmund-Davis, Edward Beckett and Phillipa Davis. His performance is further recognized by receiving high compliment given by Mr James Galway and Mr Peter-Lukas Graf. In addition, Wu was invited to perform as a featuring artist at the Rome Festival held in Rome, Italy in the summer of 2002.
Now Wu is teaching at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Hong Kong Chinese University and the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Being the Principal Flutist of the Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra and the Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia, Wu is devoted himself to promoting the playing of flute, becoming the founder and Chairman of the Hong Kong Flute Association and Hong Kong Flute Academy.
