Seminar On Schumann's Piano Music – A Celebration Of The 200th Anniversary Of His BIirth
Overview

Schumann was another great composer of Romantic piano music born in the year of 1810 as Chopin. This seminar will study Schumann’s musical style with illustrations from selected works. It will also discuss the use of suitable pieces for teaching purposes.

Description: The first session (3 September) will focus on Album for the Young, Scenes from Childhood, Arabesque, Novelette no 1, Fantasy Pieces and Forest Scenes. The second session (10 September) will discuss Abegg Variations, Papillons, Carnaval, Sonata in G minor and Fantasy in C major.
